Apple Intelligence stuck on "Preparing" status for more than 10 hours

This thread has reached 9 pages and what I have learned from reading is that one person’s success does not guarantee the same outcome for others.

My advice remains the same:

• Check for a Software Update daily.
• Turn off your iPhone daily (to flush its internal data).
• Keep trying.

You have to be connected to a WiFi network for it to work download.

I couldn't choose voices at all. I switched languages and back to English American and at least that's fixed waiting to see if preparing goes away. It was stuck showing nothing in the Language section and Australian voice.

II waited over 24 hours before I finally got it to work. I tried charging the cable, changing the region and languages, and restarting the Mac a few times. Finally, it worked!

I posted the other day and mine is still not working after over a week. I've been talking to Apple support on the phone and we tried deleting certain files. They looked at my Wi-Fi and now we're going to partition on an extra drive with a Time Machine, but I am not sure some people are able to do it. I changing language, but mine is not working. I have a M1 pro and I'm able to use Apple and intelligence.

Same. Yesterday I decided to switch to another language, turn off Siri. Turn off WiFi. Reboot. Add another user. I enabled everything and switched to English over there and it activated, but said it was downloading, not all features would be available. It went up to 4.46GB and never moved up. Today after boot it’s back to 4.43.

I know you had followed all of our suggestions listed amongst the many pages of this thread.

As you have discovered, you are on a waiting list that does not automatically update until you actually do something.

Have you tried another Wi-Fi network as I had suggested a while ago?

I have an M3 and it's still doing the same thing after weeks and is showing 4.43 GB downloaded instead of 4.94 GB. I have plenty of space and have restarted the computer and the internet modem more than once.

Have you connected to WiFi? After connection with WiFi (network should be strong), it will take hardly 30 minutes to download.

It may be because it is a beta version of it.

My M1 MacBook Pro has been Preparing for a day and a half. Seems to be reading a lot of files but I don't think it should take this long. Have rebooted once. Will try doing it more to see if I get lucky.

Just to add my voice to the group, same issue here. Stuck "preparing" since the day MacOS 15.1 was released. None of the suggestions in this thread or elsewhere fix it. Tried multiple wifi networks, restarting a million times, toggling the language, toggling the Siri voice, etc.
