Apple watch keeps asking for passcode

After getting my Apple Watch 10, the watch will ask for passcode several times a day. I’ve never had that problem with all my other watches…

I wear and use the watch the same way I always do.

I have tattoos on my left wrist, switched arms and it worked. Crazy.

No it is simple physics, subcutaneous ink blocks light. Apple designed them for all the range of human skin tones, not blue or green.

Issue resolved on my end through our IT department. Setting was missing on the server side for the wrist detection, and allowing the watch to unlock the phone, vs the other way around.

Great, but that only applies to apple devices controlled by your employer or school and is a special case.

Well, I’m using the passwords feature and it creates a long password and now I cannot get that password to be read by the Apple Watch. It’s insane to try to tap it out on the keyboard on the watch. When I copy and paste it into the keyboard that appears on the phone and supposedly connected to the watch it appears in that window on tge phone, but it never gets transferred over to the watch.

This is extremely annoying and I will add that it just started happening. I’ve been using the passwords app for a lot of things. It doesn’t work very well, but it’s OK. But in this case, it totally doesn’t work and it’s because I’m using it with my Apple account ? I guess it’s gonna get me to call Apple tomorrow.

Changed wrists multiple times with multiple bands, issues still not resolved and Apple Care + is just another scam to boost their profits. They advertise constantly with how great it is. Well, whether you use apple support online, over the phone, or in the box store. They will tell you exactly what they are programmed to say and keep you bouncing around until your plan runs out. I just had an online chat with apple support and they told me to take it to store for tech to see it. Even after I had told them multiple times I already took it into the store and they obviously didn’t fix it. But to have the nerve to try and tell me 4 different ways and expect me to forget I already did that fiasco. But they did offer to help me schedule another appointment at the same store I already went to. Appointments or not, if you’re there for support and not looking for the sales team. You will sit there and watch 5 associates standing with their iPads greeting customers, just to take their name and have them sit. I’m having trouble understanding why management would have more greeters than support techs. Especially when there are very few places you’re aloud to get in person customer support. I always was anti apple until I started using it for work and as I started getting more devices. I loved how they synced up and worked seamlessly. Ever since I upgraded all my devices, accounts, support. It’s been nothing but issues. Seriously thinking of switching back to Samsung, even though all my devices are the latest versions. Big time apple failure in customer support. I do hope they give that chat support tech a raise for not breaking and delaying their responsibility. New AuDHD diagnosed so I might have ranted a bit sorry but I’m sick of doing all this leg work. I paid for the upgrades and now I have to go through concrete to use it hahaha

I never had any issue with the passcode until I got my second Apple Watch Ultra. I replaced it with the Ultra 2 because of this issue. It doesn't always continually ask for the code, but when it does, it seems to disconnect almost as soon as I enter the code. The spot where I wear my watch has basically a squiggly line tattoo on it so I can't see how that would affect the watch. So far, the only thing I've been able to figure out, is how tough the watch actually is. I've slammed it into a steel I-beam, thrown it from the second floor, and stabbed it with a screwdriver, and you couldn't even tell. I really wish Apple would have a real tech support instead of us having to fix these issues ourselves.

Been dealing with this for a while now and been doing a crazy amount of leg work, just to get my watch fixed. I finally got the store to take it for service. Unfortunately the Apple Care Plus doesn’t actually work as advertised and after a combined 12 hours of my own time. I am sitting here without my device for at least 4-5 days, which is the reason for upgrading to Apple Care Plus. Long story short, you are better off destroying it and getting it replaced sooner. (Per Apple’s support team members) Guess I’m just too honest for that.hahaha
