IOS 18 broke Dodge UConnect carplay and messages

I have a 2022 dodge ram truck complete with a radio that has carplay. Up until I updated from IOS 17.x (i did not install last update before updating to IOS 18) my hands free worked flawlessly with my vehicle. connectivity seems to be tricky to say the least. Prior to the update, I could display any carplay enabled app without any issue. Specifically, "Waze" and Imessage.

It is now a struggle to get maps info to display. I have to enable and disable and re enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to get that to work. As soon as I do anything else, connectivity to the app fails and I have to start again

Second, Imessage. when I hit the button to command Siri to sent a message, there is a long pause and sometimes it connects and other times it simply locks up. Again, I have to turn bluetooth off to get the "Siri listening" message to disappear. If im lucky enough to send a message, after saying text this person, It may or may not send. It confirms on the screen that the recipient is known but sometimes it does not make to back to my phone. finally, when a message arrives, I never ever see it on the screen. I used to get a pop up saying message from "Person" and then if I touched it, it would read aloud to me. This never happens now.

IPhone 14 plus, at initial release of ISO 18.

UConnect and radio firmware was updated by the dealer a few months back due to another issue.

Prior to IOS 18 this all worked flawlessly.

I also went to a certified apple store and asked if the IOS settings were correct as they seem to have changed slightly with the update. The technician advised me that everything appeared to be configured correctly as his phone works with a different model dodge vehicle post IOS 18 update

Any thoughts on what to do to fix this issue?
