My wife’s iPhone 16 Pro is not turning on. Several times I have had to push the top volume, bottom volume and then hold the right power button until the Apple came on. And it took much longer than 10 seconds and instead of it coming on by itself, the Apple would show only after I held and released the power button. Did she get a lemon or are others having this problem? She gets a new phone every year so this is not an operator error.

Hi. I had the same experience today. Was very Hassled as the iPhone 16 pro 1 TB is a usd 2000 phone.
Went to the Apple store and the technician fixed it in 30 seconds. Seems the iPhone 16 has a different hard reboot process.

Hard reboot is first press the volume up button on the left side once only, then press the volume down button below it once only and then keep holding the power button till the apple logo shows up.

I got my phone (16 plus) a little over a week ago and the same thing happened to me twice after charging overnight with my phone turned off. Took longer to force start the second time.
My daughter is also having the same issue. This started after she updated to 18.0.1. This is extremely frustrating and unacceptable for a phone that costs $1,000.
In sequence holding the power on button until you see the apple logo.
Just got my brand new iPhone 16 pro three days ago. Turned it off while plugged in last night and the same thing happened this morning. Had to force restart to get it on.

Annoying, this has happened a number of times now in a phone that costs over £1200! Battery is always at 100% but firmware seems to think the battery has no charge, come on Apple, fix this bug!!
my iPhone 16 has turned into a brick phone two times since I got it a week ago. Currently waiting to give it back and try another just as soon as the Mac store opens. This is getting old
They all have it. It’s the firmware we downloaded maybe the 18.1 or .2
Had the same problem, got a new iPhone 16 Pro -Max , and it is still happening ; Apple needs to fix this problem

I have had my new 16 pro max for a week and I have had the same problem after turning in off for charging last night. I have had an I phone for over 15 years and never had this problem before.
Bought two new iPhone 16 Plus. Did update to iOS 18.0.1. When one phone was turned off and charged overnight, it would not turn on this morning. So far I am trying the force restart multiple times and I have plugged it into a different charger no beeps. Also I plugged it into my MacBook and no beep and not showing up on Finder. This is bad. This has never happened with multiple iPhones over the last several years. Phone $1000 and it does not work after a few days. Ugh. Afraid to shut down the other phone and fear that it will also not be able to be turned down.
iPhone 16 pro Max here. This happened to me this morning. I usually switch it off and charge at night. Took me about 10 minutes in frustration to finally get it switched on. Had to force start 3 times.
I’m really hoping this is a bug and will be fixed in the next software update and not my phone. These things ain’t cheap 😅
