iOS 18 Can't Access Synced Photo Albums in Wallpaper & Other Apps
I keep most of my wallpapers in a synced album from my 2017 iMac running Ventura. The rest have been stored in my Recent Photos album for quick regular use, but now, iOS 18 won't let me view my albums at all when I go to create or change my wallpaper. This new photos app has really bungled up a lot of functionality. I find it overly complex for no reason whatsoever. I don't need customization, I don't need curation. I just need to access and find my photos and albums when I need them. That's it. Certain apps like Instagram, Google Drive, or Facebook still allow me to browse my albums for upload as I used to, but DropBox, BlueSky, Threads, or Patreon won't let me see anything but my ENTIRE photo collection. There's no option to access my albums there, same as with Wallpaper. I imagine there's no setting to fix this. It's likely a dodgy side effect of the re-design that needs to be rectified ASAP.
Bear in mind, I don't use iCloud Photos or Shared Albums. It's all directly synced from my iMac to my iPhone SE (3rd Gen). I just want Apple to know that this is annoying and a serious hindrance on functionality that should be addressed quickly.
