I am unable to update my iPhone 15 to iOS 18

IOS 17.4.1 update stuck: IOS update 17.4.1 stuck on new iPhone 15. No status bar. Says "update requested". Tried deleting update and requesting it again. No change. Phone is 100% charged and is also connected to WIFI. Picked up this new phone this at 10 a.m. this morning. It's 2 p.m. and the update still says 'update requested' but doesn't show any update status."

If your iPhone 15's iOS 17.4.1 update is stuck on "Update Requested" with no progress, despite being fully charged and connected to Wi-Fi, try restarting your phone and reconnecting to Wi-Fi. If that doesn't work, reset network settings under Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, then try the update again. You can also try updating through iTunes or Finder on a computer if the issue persists.

Try doing the update via Mac or PC. If the servers are flooded which is likely since it just launched the download can take quite a while even on computer but it is more likely to download and not experience the update requested lag that some are having with OTA attempts. Took me a little over an hour via my MacBook (I always do major updates connected to computer as it seems to be far more reliable than OTA for me and I never experience any of the issues others claim every year like looping issues or “bricking”).

I purchased a new iPhone 15 today tues sept 17 2024 and the phone has now been trying to update to iOS 18 for 6 hours and nothing has happened, Wi-Fi is hot and phone has 100% charge, becoming very disappointed and kinda wishing I had bought a Sam sung instead, I will let it keep trying until tomorrow and if nothing happens I will ask for my money back and cancel my account which I would prefer not to do but might have no choice, you might want to do the same.
