Just purchased civil war tonight for $30, thru my Apple TV phone app… then it will play on my Google tv on my Apple TV app… …. usually it. Plays no problem.
tonight it says “incompatible on this devise”… no pre warning.
has anyone else experienced this?
what can we do?
now I’m scared to rent or buy anymore movies thru Apple TV.

Go to Apple support - billing and subscriptions, then request a refund on the movie purchase.
I diid and they refunded a few days later.
They must be aware of the problem and unable to fix it.
Just discovered today we have the same problem on that same movie after purchasing. Disgusting.
You can only play from an iPhone Apple laptop or iPad. And stream it to your TV. Ridiculous!
It is quite concerning that Apple will now make this happen for all future apple movie purchases.
We also have a Google TV Shop on our Sony TVs.
And absolutely no issues whatsoever with Google’s movie library platform.
So we are now going back to that as of today.
I also downloaded last night thru iPhone / Apple TV app. Can’t play on 2 different Samsung tvs with Apple TV app, or screen mirror.
Yep, similar problem here. I purchased the movie yesterday day, went to watch last night and it’s no longer available. It’s not just says “+ Add to Up Next”
3 tvs and none will allow me to play Civil War which I have purchased… Help?
