HomePod not responding after updating to OS 17.4

hi mate. Silly I know, try leaving plugged in and ready. I would expect it to recover shortly. Installing will take forever!

same here an gues its out of warranty. wont turn on , cant reset it doesnt even recogbnise when plugged into mac . totally screwed the joys lets ee what apple will say. tough luck no doubt

Plugged into Mac? Are you saying a mini was bricked by the update? Only a mini can physically plug into a Mac.

My first Feb HomePods aso can’t be used after 17.4 update

I have a stereo pair of OG large HomePods - and one of them has also died directly after trying to update to 17.4. No reset methods work, zero signs of life at all.

I loved the HK soundsticks until I upgraded to OG HomePods for the TV. Love the HomePods but there is no safe way of using them now as the updates break them and can't be turned off :(

I don’t think forced is correct here. It’s a place that Siri lives in… connected to the internet and plays audio…. Probably does need updating due to computer viruses and poor programming language.

I’ve updated to iOS17.6 - and now have the same issue. I’ve had this issue in the past and it’s so frustrating to fix. Why does this continue to occur ? HomePods were fine before the update !

My OG HomePod died today after updating to iOS 18. Nothing worked. Will leave it unplugged for a few days and try again. So frustrating.

Same, I updated to iOS 18 the other day and my HomePod mini has been saying “configuring” ever since. I am doing a factory reset now and going to see if it works.

I also plugged mine into my MacBook, restored and updated yet mine still will not work :(

Where is the fix? What is the answer?
