Found this process running on the Activity Monitor with User "root". Is this a normal process? Currently at macOS Sonoma 14.2.1

Does anyone know what that is and if that is a legit process? It said it was root. I tried googling it but came up with nothing except articles about malware called AdLoad due to key words of xProtect and AdLoad and now I'm very worried I have it. Can someone please help me.

Unknown process peopled in Activity Monitor Hi, I’m new to MacBooks and I have a M3 MacBook Pro. I’ve been familiarizing myself with Activity Monitor. There are tons of processes that I’d never heard of before but I was able to find out what they were by doing a Google search. Except for “peopled”. I’ve searched forever and can’t find anything. Could it be a virus/malware? Thanks.

What is homed in the Mac OS activity monitor? I found a password locked hidden process spyware program called astiris services running on a Mac I bought last week. Im trying to figure out what to delete. Is the homed process malicious or is it necessary for function and what does it do if it is necessary?
