I found a password locked hidden process spyware program called astiris services running on a Mac I bought last week. Im trying to figure out what to delete. Is the homed process malicious or is it necessary for function and what does it do if it is necessary?

To reiterate what P Phillips said: homed is part of the normal OS and you need not worry about it, and should just let it be.
It is possible that this other thing you have is trying to use homed, but that would be like trying to use the Finder or any other component of the system.
The " homed " process is normally associated with the Home application
As for the " Astris Services " the process does not appear in Activity Monitor >> View >> View All Processes on this machine with Monterey 12.5
But than again, not using the Home application in this household
