Mac is showing the wrong date and time despite trying everything

My Mac is showing the wrong date & time even though I have chosen the right region, and selected "set date and time automatically". The time zone is also in the right region.i have also been using 'sudo sntp -sS time.apple.com' but now i'm tired of using it evertime i close the liad and open. i had a power outage for over 16 hours, thinking it could have been due to being switched off the whole time. Please help me solve this problem!

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.1

You do not say what exact Mac or what exact macOS....?

What I can say with little about your specifics— there is known bug in macOS Sonoma

You have an option to Set it manually, no harm there. There is a toggle included to turn off Automatic, do what works.

Some have had success resolving the issue from the Terminal.app copy & paste:

sudo rm /var/db/timed/com.apple.timed.plist

this removes the plist. Reboot as normal and plist gets rebuilt
