Macbook showing wrong time

My macbook is showing wrong time i have tried everything from older posts to correct my time.

things i have done:

Restarting
setting automatic time setting off and on
The best option that worked for me is typing this in terminal:

sudo sntp -sS time.apple.com

It sets my time to the correct one but for temporarily. After some time it goes back to showing the wrong time

Its 1 December today and it always get set to 25 November.

I have a Macbook pro 2019 model with MacOs sonoma Version 14.1.2

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.1

Have exactly the same problem as you. Started when I updated from OS13 to OS 14.1.1 and I am still 8 days (25 nov) after when I update to 14.1.2. Have also a MacBookPro 2019.

It might have and I didn’t notice as I’m on auto update. However, it did an update today but I haven’t had Tim to revert back to automatic date/time. I’ll check it out later today and let you know if anything has changed.

use this code in the terminal whenever you need to set your time right

You will need to enter your password. The password will not show on terminal but the machine will read whatever you type there.

After doing this multiple times it solved my problem.

I have no explanation to why the problem is occuring.

sudo sntp -sS time.apple.com

I’m having the same issue. My date is set to 19 Dec 2022. I can set it manually but as soon as I switch back to using time.apple.com, it goes back to the above mentioned date.

I’m now running 14.1.2 and tried switching back to automatic time. It immediately set me back to December 19 2022.
