Homepod upgraded to 17.1.1 and then it froze and does not start nor restore.

My brand new HomePod had some issues setting up. It came with os 15.6. I lugged on my Mac mini and was able to update it to 17.1.1. After that it broke down and now it does not set up nor restore. When I plug it in, it just shows a rotating white light. I press and light goes red but nothing happens no matter how long I keep pressing. When I try the USBC to Mac mini restore it just says that it cannot restore and that the "session is inactive", whatever that means. This is by far the worse apple product I have ever had. So frustrating.
