Google Maps Spinning in CarPlay
iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 17.1.1
When connected to CarPlay, my Google Maps spins constantly. I've figured out it happens every time I pass a perpendicular road, the map spins to see if I'm turning, then spins back to get back on track. It's very annoying. Here are some additional facts:
- Spinning reduces when I zoom out far enough so roads aren't displayed
- Spinning only happens on car screen, NOT on my phone. When I hold my phone up in front of the screen the phone display stays straight, while the CarPlay display spins.
- Other apps do not function this way, but Google Maps is my preferred (Waze, Apple Maps).
- Yes, I know if I select "North Up" it won't spin, but I like the map to follow me with my vehicle always traveling up.
It's clearly a CarPlay issue, and I'm not wanting to change my preferred map (many saved spots around the country). Has anyone else seen this??
