WhatsApp is not available even on iPad cellular

After buying an iPad, I noticed that WhatsApp wasn't available in the App Store. Despite buying a cellular option. Why wouldn't Apple release an official WhatsApp for iPad. Till when we will have WhatsApp on iPad..

WhatsApp is not an Apple product.

The WhatApp developers have not released an App compatible with iPad - the App being currently limited to iPhone.

Whilst the App is not available for iPad - you should be able to access the service using a web browser:

https://web.whatsapp.com/

As for when, or even if an App compatible with iPadOS will ever be released, is known only to WhatsApp.

It is however, to be noted that it is NOT due to ipad lacking Sms feature. Most windows laptops have no sms, but have a native app for whatsapp. IDK the real reason, maybe it is because otherwise facetime would not really have a reason to exist, or some other thing. Whatever it is, the two companies should have sorted it out by now. It is a really heavily used app, some people running their business through it. Whatsapp web is not enough. You can not do video calls from it, and can not put shortcuts on home screen for individual chats. The two companies should sort it out, as a whatsapp is one of the most used apps in India. While it may be difficult for a small teeny tiny company like apple, I believe whatsapp would listen and put a dev or two in developing something that can work. A different client for ipads perhaps? Web version simply isnt a good answer. Gets logged out all the time too, and lags.
