Apple Watch Battery (sudden massive drain)

Apple Watch 6, Wifi 45mm.

Usually I get up at 6am, watch on by 6:45am. In bed by 10pm at which point the watch was usually 70-75%.

Since recent update my watch is warning me its at 10% by around 5-6pm. So a catastrophic drop in battery life since the latest update.

Something must be up that needs fixing. Just FYI.

PS: Love the watch - this is the first issue I’ve ever had with an Apple watch.

* edit - for additional details. I dont use it to take calls or listen to music. Mostly just use it for time, keeping track of my circles and checking texts. I keep the screen off (turns on at raising wrist).

Apple Watch 8/WiFi/45mm

I started having the same problem yesterday morning, just after my watch and phone updated to 10.1.

The watch gets very hot, will not charge above 73%, and drains to nothing within two hours.

Looking at the watch, Location Services remains on, but I am unable to identify what is using it.

Previously, I could go up to two days without charging my watch and now I cannot safely wear it.

Hello P Gardner,

We understand you're experiencing shorter battery life recently on your Apple Watch after updating. To clarify, you're using iOS 17.0.3 and watchOS 10.0.2? If not, updating both devices would be a good step. Be sure to back up your iPhone beforehand:
