Apple TV keeps disconnecting

Our Apple TV keeps freezing and crashing, then the remote on our phones cannot find the tv. WiFi is working as everything else works besides the two TVs (bedroom and living room.) have unplugged and plugged back in and it does not help. All systems are up to date. Any ideas?

My Apple TV is awful. I’ve stopped using it altogether. I just use chromecast and cast things to the TV. The Apple TV is a terrible product.

You've completed some great troubleshooting steps. At this time, we suggest that you reset or restore your Apple TV to its factory settings. Completing the restore may be able to help correct this behavior:


"Reset your Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD

  1. On your Apple TV, go to Settings > System > Reset.
  2. Choose a reset option:
    • Reset: This option is the fastest way to return your Apple TV to factory settings. This option doesn't require an Internet connection.
    • Reset and Update: This option returns your Apple TV to its factory settings and installs software updates. This option requires an Internet connection.

3. Keep your Apple TV plugged into power until the Reset process finishes. Then you can set up your Apple TV again.


Reset or restore your Apple TV (3rd generation) or earlier

  1. On your Apple TV, go to Settings > General > Reset.
  2. Choose one of these options:
    • Reset All Settings: This option resets your settings, including your accounts and configurations.
    • Restore: This option returns your Apple TV to its factory settings and installs software updates. This option requires Internet.

3. Keep your Apple TV plugged into power until the Reset process finishes. Then you can set up your Apple TV again.

I am having a similar situation, I have 4 Apple TVs and two of them will disconnect to the internet and they are even connected to the Ethernet. I have to go to settings and restart for it to start working again. Then it will do the same thing on another Apple TV and I have to force restart. I’ve done the factory reset and that didn’t solve the problem. Any ideas?
