My apple tv is getting stuck on the page that is telling me to choose a wifi (it lists the wifi) and to choose this "apple TV"
our battery went flat on the old remote so we bought a new $90 one
We have paired it ( we can see the light flashing on the Apple tv box when we click) but the TV is stuck on that page asking us to connect to wifi

The new remotes are only compatible with Apple TV (4th generation or later) with up-to-date software. If you have an earlier model Apple TV, then you will need a different model remote A1294 (no longer sold through Apple, but select resellers may still have a few).

Please unplug the Apple TV from its power source for 3-4 minutes then re-attempt. If you continue have a problem, please give AppleCare a call.
