HomePod mini and HomePod stuck on configuring

Is anyone having problems setting up either a HomePod or HomePod mini? I've removed/reset my home several times, re-added my Philips hue bridge and lights then when I add a HomePod sometimes it might configure and all seems to be well, then when I add a second HomePod in either the same or a different room the new one is stuck on configuring? I've got an Apple TV which is also acting as a hub. This has been driving me mad for weeks, the only solutions I can find are restart and update to the latest version of iOS etc. I've done the "Create a test home" in which sometimes a second HomePod will configure but then when you remove and add to my proper home again it's stuck on configuring. I've run out of things to try, ive turned home on iCloud on and off reset/rebooted everything I can think of. I'm on the verge of ditching the whole setup and buying and Alexa. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out mickm1972,

It sounds like you're having some trouble setting up your HomePod. We can help.

Since you have a number of components, it may be easier to track down the issue by disconnecting all your devices, bridges, and accessories and add them one at a time to make sure everything is working every step of the way.

First, you can follow these steps to make sure that both your iPhone is up to date, and your HomePod is also updated: Update HomePod. Then you can connect to your Apple TV and test if everything is working correctly.

If it is, we can move on to the Hue bridge. Keeping in mind that Philips released an updated bridge a few years back, let's take a moment and make sure you have the newer bridge: Philips Support - Hue Bridge

If you continue having difficulty and you've confirmed you have a compatible Hue Bridge, you can connect with Apple directly using either Get Support or if you're in a region without direct support options, you can also Contact Apple for support and service.

Hope that helps.

Take care.

Hi mickm1972,

Even though you have found a workaround for the issue, we'd like to reiterate verifying with Philips that your Hue Bridge is updated, and also that it is compatible with the latest HomePod and Apple TV software.

About Software Updates for HomePod - Apple Support

Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support

About Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD software updates - Apple Support

If all is well with Philips, then you'll want to contact Apple Support, so they can look into this.

All the best.

I have found sort of a solution, I had to create two homes, to the first home I added all my HomePods which as the home was empty configured normally, so two HomePod minis in stereo and two gen one full size HomePods. These now work correctly. Then to the second home I added the hue bridge which has all my lights connected then I recreated any scenes id set up and finally added my Apple TV 4k. At the moment everything seems to be working, the only annoying thing is now when I say turn the lights on the HomePods as if its the lights in home number 2, I don't know why as home number 1 doesn't have any, but its a small price to pay. Hopefully if anyone else is having similar trouble this might help.
