White screen bug while scrolling.

While using safari on webpages with a large amount of text/images the page seems to turn white while scrolling then takes a few moments to fully load the view. On average, view load time after scrolling is about 7 seconds for most sites.

On IPhone 12.

iOS 16.5

Here is what I have tried.

  1. Turned the phone off then on again. (No difference.)
  2. Clear safari browsing data. (No difference.)
  3. Check that my iOS version is up to date. (It is up to date.)
  4. Turn off all experimental features in safari advanced settings. (No difference.)
  5. Downloaded Chrome for iOS. (The initial load was faster. But the scrolling issue persisted, took on average 7 seconds to load the view after scrolling.)

My wife's phone is IPhone 14 and does not have this issue. What is going on here? I'm just trying to view web sites... is Apple slowing down the older versions on purpose?

iPhone 12, iOS 16

Hey there Thavus,

It sounds like you've tried a lot of great troubleshooting steps! While you may need to contact Apple Support about this, we'd like to help by continuing to rule out some other possible causes, along with learning more about what's happening:

  1. Does this issue occur while connected to Wi-Fi, and while using only cellular?
  2. When did this issue start to first occur?
  3. While we know this article doesn't exactly address the issue you're having, we still recommend following the remaining steps you haven't tried yet: If Safari isn't loading websites or quits on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Cheers!
