IOS safari freezes on back swipe gesture

using the latest iphone 15 pro and noticed that some websites on safari will freeze up for like 3 seconds if i use the swipe gesture to go back to the previous page. if i use the bottom back nav bar button or any back button/link on the site it will not freeze. this happens on sites like facebook for example.

during the freeze if i scroll up or down it will not display the scrolled page (frozen) but will eventually catch up and display the new scrolled location on the site.

iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 17

Hi naran8,

If you have concerns regarding the performance of your iPhone, first review the options and suggestions from If your iPhone or iPad is running slow as a starting point.

If still occurring it would be worth noting if this is impacted by every site or only specific ones, it if happens more on certain network connections than others, as well as other possible common factors to determine a good direction for additional investigation.

Regards.
