When I insert my SD card in my 2012 MacBook Pro I can usually find it in the sidebar of photos and download my photos. But it also has a tendency to disappear, either before I find it or after I download from it. It often does not appear on the desktop or Sidebar. How do I locate it when it is time to eject it.

The SDcard reader can be finicky yes—
—try compressed air and blow out the SDcard reader slot...is a possibility
—repeatedly working a blank SDcard in and out, side to side, all in an effort to shine up the contact points...
—compare using a different cards...
