I have the Season Pass subscription and though I am able to watch all matches on my Apple TV or iOS devices, I cannot watch Portland Timbers games on the Apple TV app on my Mac Studio. I just get a black screen.

Given that this is an international forum, it's always good to include all the relevant information. I thought you meant the NBA, too.
My point is that, had you mentioned MLS in your first post, rather than assuming everyone would know what you meant, it would have saved everyone time. In asking for help in a forum such as this, the more relevant information you put in your first post, the better the answers you will tend to get. Thanks for your critique of my post and the difficulty you had in understanding it despite clear information that indicated it was to do with Season Pass and the Portland Timbers and thanks too for not offering any help in answering the question I had asked. I have found the answer though I don't understand it as I thought there were no restrictions on games with Season Pass. If I turn off location services for the TV app I now get the feed.
NBA League Pass doesn't include the playoffs, but it's on TNT right now, if you can get them. My Apple TV+ on my Apple TV forwarded me to TNT on my streaming service.

You can only watch MLS games on Apple now so I am not sure what you mean. TNT is showing an NBA game right now.
it's just the playoff hub thing that they offer in the post-season, not the games themselves.

Sorry. I, in fact, did see Timbers and thought Timberwolves, thought you were asking about NBA, not MLS. Just ignore my babbling, sorry. 🙃
Season Pass is only for MLS. Portland Timbers is an MLS team. Not sure why you would think this had something to do with the NBA.
I will be absolutely certain not to bother you with any help in the future.
