Why can't watch MLB live games on Apple TV even though my software is up to date?

I am subscribed to Apple TV+ and have no problem watching content - except for live Major League Baseball games (I can watch all the other MLB-related shows.) Inside the Apple TV+ on my Mac running the latest Monterey OS (12.7, or 12.6.9), after I click the Watch Now button, I see this screen:

Friday night baseball, only on Apple TV+

Update your software so you can watch it all - live games daily coverage in more.

Button: Update Now

When I click Update Now, I am taken to System Preferences, Software Update, which says, "Your Mac is up to date - macOS Monterey 12.7"

iMac (Late 2015)

I have no problems watching MLB live games on my MacBook Pro (2018) or iPad 9th Generation (2022).

Strange that MLB is the only problem I have with watching Apple TV+ content on this older Mac. And that certainly is a B.S. non-error message, and crappy user experience.

I have an even older Mac (mid 2013 Air), and when I click the Update Now button, nothing happens. My software is as up to date as possible (Big Sur 11.7). So it appears that we just don't get Friday Night Baseball through our Apple TV+ if our equipment is too old.
