What is libwidevinecdm.dylib on macbook? I got a pop-up while trying to watch netlflix.
I had a pop-up saying "libwidevinecdm.dylib" wasn't downloaded from the app store when I tried to use netflix while on google chrome. it gave the option of "Ok" or "Show in Finder". I tried googling it to understand it, couldn't find much except for possibly having a relation to streaming videos. There was a google link saying something else with a similar name was malware, so I panicked, deleted it on Finder, then realized it was something different. But after deleting it Netflix and HBO Max didn't work. I updated my software, video streaming services work again, and I never got the pop up again, but I am concerned about it still. Does anyone have a clear answer/understanding or am I diving way too deep into this?
