QuestSearchDaemon will damage your computer

I have a MacBook Air. When I was downloading a new app (for a bridge game) I got the message “QuestSearchDaemon” will damage your computer. This file was downloaded on an unknown date. The only 2 options are “OK” and “Show in Finder”. I’ve clicked on both and nothing happens. I’ve tried moving the pop-up to trash which didn’t work. How can I get rid of the pop-up.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.13

Directions for doing so are given on an anti-virus page, from an anti-virus company I'm not entirely certain has software that makes any difference for Mac users with their software. But I will say this, the directions they give are independent of using their software:

Be mindful, any sudo commands can risk losing all the files on your computer if you aren't exact in your verbage.

Be also mindful these protections aren't to be taken lightly, and only do so if you trust the developer whose file is blocked. Contact the developer of the game and let them know they need to sign their files properly so Mac users can use their game.
