why when screen mirroring my iphone on my appletv Google photos APP is not actually a real screen mirroring! Meaning it only shows photos in full screen mode when i select one on my iphone. But if I zoom the photo on the phone or move it or select information etc only the photo stays on the tv. same thing like browsing ans searching my photos. This is so anoying.

Thank you for your explanation. It makes sense. I was suspecting the issue being with the Google app itself but never had any confirmation. Like I said the behavior is annoying. I understand to say to there streaming mode when playing videos, like the apple photo app does.
That behavior is actually identical even when using Google only devices like Android + photo app + Chromecasting to Chromecast tv 🤦😟
