Does optimized battery charging occur when using USB-C ports for charging?

I'm using USB-C charging to charge my MacBook Pro M1. Does the "Optimize Battery Charging" switch work the same with USB-C as it does when using the MagSafe adapter?

MacBook Pro (M1, 2020)
