How to disable "Organize by conversation" on Mails using Mac

For me Organise by conversations is not usable, people are always changing topic in the same mail thread and then specific information gets very hard to find. So I want to disable this forever.

When I do a search the check mark for "organise..." is there, I uncheck it, clear the search field, do a new search for the same name and the check mark is back. I assume this is a "feature" since I cannot find any setting or articles about it.

Anyone who knows?

The technical issue is that the UI does not work in an obvious or intuitive way. Setting "Organise by Conversation" should do what it says and there should be no requirement to repeatedly revisit this option in order to achieve the user's preferred result.

I am sorry, I should have been more clear. Please try this: select a mailbox, turn off the Organize, do a search in the same mailbox, this turns on the Organize, turn it off, clear search term, Organize is still off, do a new search, Organize is now on again. So the problem is when searching, there is no way to turn off the Organize feature. This is also the technical issue in the original post above. Any ideas would be deeply appreciated!

I just tried this and yes, it seems that when you do a search "Organize by Conversation" is turned on.

Personally, I would not have noticed it, because I actually prefer it, and always have it on.

Two things you can do:

1) Add a keyboard shortcut. This will at least make it less painful to revert the changes.

In System Settings->Keyboard, click Keyboard Shortcuts, then App Shortcuts. Add a new shortcut: type the text of the menu exactly: "Organize by Conversation" (without the quotes) and choose a shortcut.

Then whenever you need to turn it off, just press the designated keyboard shortcut.

2) Report the issue to feedback. Only Apple can change how Mail works, so tell them what is happening.

If as you have mentioned above and is Reproducible on a Regular Basis.

If Apple can Reproduce and get the same results - then perhaps you have found a Software Bug in Venture >> Mail

Then have a few suggestions ;

1 - Get Support Choose a product and we’ll find you the best solution.Start now and open an Apple Support Ticket as they are Apple Employees to deal will these types of issues.

2 - Product Feedback - Apple and make it known to Apple regarding this ongoing issue

I had the same issue, and I believe I know a solution. If you have multiple e-mail addresses in Apple Mail, you will also have an "All Inboxes" aggregator. You need to make sure that "Organize by Conversation" is turned off in the All Inboxes mailbox by going to View and unchecking. I have found that if this is on, it will seemingly keep turning on Organize by Conversation in the individual mailboxes. I hope this helps.

Sorry, but do not quite see how the above is directly related to the Technical issue.

Yes, one maybe frustrated on how Apple has implemented to Organize by Conversation

Though, we have attempted to illustrate a possible solution

Worst case, use a Third Party e-mail client that you finder to your liking

There is no requirement to only use Mail

There are plenty of Third Party e-mail clients available
