Apple News on CarPlay

According to some.. I should be able to see/hear Apple News thru CarPlay, but I can’t. I am subscribed to Apple News Plus, I see it on my iPhone (SE 12) but it does not show on CarPlay. Apple Music does.. and Apple Maps and others.

When I select (on my phone) General -> CarPlay -> Palisade -> Customize… there is a list of Apps that show on my Vehicles screen (two Calendar & Google Maps have a “-“ sign where presumably I could remove them) but there seems no options available with the others. And the “more apps” at the bottom of the screen is greyed out and not available.

So, thoughts? Suggestions? Are there some setting that prevent me adding apps to CarPlay?
