Customizing the Apple News feed

I keep asking Apple News to “suggest less” on stories in my feed in an attempt to customize the news feed. But I keep getting more of the same kind of stories. How long is it supposed to take Apple to reflect my preferences using this system?

Also, why is there no search function in the News app for iPhone on the main screen when you want to find a story that you saw but can’t find it in your feed any longer? There is a search under “manage favorites,” but search should be easily accessible from the home screen of the app.

Not sure I understand. There’s a “suggest more’ and a “suggest less” built into the News app. I’m not talking about submitting feedback for app improvements (except my comments about a search function), but I am asking why those suggest functions don’t seem to alter what’s appearing in my feed. I’m assuming AI is somehow involved in selecting stories for my feed, so it shouldn’t depend on real people reading my feedback to alter my feed. But it doesn’t seem like “suggest less” actually does anything.

Suggestions and Feedback for improvements --> Apple Inc says; "We read all feedback carefully, but we are unable to respond to each submission individually."
