NPR "News Now" No Longer in App Store

NPR "News Now" has been removed from the App Store with no explanation. Note, this is NOT the NPR or NPR ONE App (see icon below). Rather this is the best way to listen to NPR news since it allows quick an easy skipping to desired stories as well as hand free listening to the whole news. I have used this for years, and it may have been an independent developer just providing an easy interface to listen to the news (there is no way to see info about the app now). I thought we could hold onto apps that we already downloaded, even if the developer removes it from the app store. This seems like something else. The app still updates to the latest news on old devices that have the app, but I cannot load on new devices. Does anyone now what has happened or if this can be fixed?

Apps can be removed from the App Store by either the developer or by Apple and I believe either may choose to make the app unavailable for redownloading from previous purchases. Your best bet would be to contact the developer to ask if the app is still in development or to obtain further information.

Edit: I did a little Googling and it was removed from the App Store years ago due to NPR changing their API terms and requesting the app to be removed.
