Sound cuts out

Sound begins to cut out after about a minute, when playing from Music on my Mac Mini using Ventura 13.3 to my two Apple Homepod speakers. After that, it cuts out every few seconds. Sound could be in a playlist or played directly from an MP3 file. The same tunes don't cut out when played from Music to the same speakers from my iPad. Seems the cutting out started just after I upgraded to Ventura.

Attached is a report from EtreCheck.

* If your HomePod speaker isn’t responding, first try to restart it with the Home app. If you don't see an option to restart, or HomePod still doesn't respond after restarting, reset it to factory settings.
* If you have two HomePod speakers set up as a stereo pair, you must ungroup the stereo pair before you can reset HomePod.

Speakers still cut out despite re-installing the software which took forever. I paid $150 per speaker (in Canada) and would not have bought them if I knew they would be that much trouble. The sound is pretty good, but a pair of cheap desktop speakers would do the job nearly as well. The main thing seems to be Bluetooth which doesn't work very well on my machine and never has. I don't want to be bothered with stuff that takes so much management. I just want it to work. So, anybody want to buy a slightly used pair of speakers which work most of the time?
