GarageBand not picking up audio

All of a sudden GarageBand won’t pick up any audio. In the mac settings it will pick up both my usb mic and the internal mic fine however, in GarageBand it won’t pick up either.

It was picking up both last week and working fine but it’s suddenly stopped today. I use it regularly and never had a problem before.

I have tried/checked:

• restarting both the MacBook and garageband
• unplugging - re plugging in the mic etc.
• The privacy settings are correct
• the input settings are correct
• The latest versions are running

Any help/insight would be great thanks!
