Sounds like a website issue—
If in doubt refer to the developers website; Support/Help/FAQ/known issues/
you can try a different browser and compare your results, may be telling.

As I mentioned, those features work fine on my iPad so it's not my account which is the problem
Macs and iDevice have very different operating systems. It is Facebook's duty to make sure their software runs on both.
