How do I reset the iPod Nano in 2023 using MUSIC?

I'm giving the iPod Nano away. I want to remove the name of the NANO and the music. There are no photos, voice memos on it. I've kept the software up to date, so I don't want to return it to the 2010 software. What is the simple way to do this? I have it connected to the mac and I see the name, etc and general music etc.

Does "restoring" iPod keep the latest software version?

Yes.

Use Finder on a Mac, to restore the iPod to factory Settings. The OS version it is running will not be downgraded or removed in any way It will just erase all content and settings, and allow it to be setup again by the new owner.

Thanks. I did a restore. Got hung up. Did the "Push the on and front buttons." Hung up. Disconnected. Got a message to "restore from iTunes." Turned it on again. did the "push the on and front buttons, count to ten" let go at apple. Hooked it back up. Clicked the restore again. Went through it. The Music Video Etc that had been at the top of the iPOD settings window when connected before have all vanished. iPod appears like an external on the desktop. It's blank like an external when open. I assume one would drag their music or videos into it now and the iPod finds the files? It does not appear in MUSIC.

But, I was able to get the name of the iPod changed to "iPod" and it's clean now.
