Screen Mirror not Work

Trying to run screen mirroring or sidecar on 6th Generation iPad Pro running V 16.3.1 and Mac Mini 2023 M2 running Ventura 13.2.1.

Both logged in to same accounts with 2 factor auth.

Both connected to same wifi network.

Both have bluetooth on.

Tried connecting both devices with original ipad cable and 3 diffrent usb-c cables.

The iPad connects you trust it and then it just allows you to manage storage etc.

Have anyone else experienced this issue?

Mac mini, macOS 13.2

Hey there topsecretbb,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities.

To help narrow down the issue further, do you also have Handoff enabled on both your iPad and Mac mini? For help with checking this setting, take a look at this link here: Use Handoff to continue tasks on your other devices - Apple Support

• Mac with macOS Ventura or later: Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, click General in the sidebar, then click AirDrop & Handoff on the right. Turn on “Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.”
• Mac with earlier versions of macOS: Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click General, then select “Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.”
• iPhone or iPad: Go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Handoff, then turn on Handoff.

Also, if using an iPad with a cellular connection, have you ensured that the cellular connection is not being shared, and that your Mac mini is not sharing its internet connection?

If still having issues after the steps above, we'd also recommend creating a new admin user account to test the issue further. This can help to determine if the issue is isolated to just your account, or if the issue is system-wide. If you need any help with creating a new user account, check out this link here: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac - Apple Support

After testing the issue, you can go ahead and remove the test account. Let us know what you find, and we'll continue from there.

Have a great day!

Hi topsecretbb,

In that case, if all the criteria are met, we'd recommend seeing if this works properly in Safe Mode. This will disable any 3rd party apps starting up with your Mac that could be interfering with the software.

Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

Having multiple screens connected shouldn't interfere with this process.

If you continue to have issues after isolating with safe mode, you may want to go ahead and reach out to Apple here: Get Support

Cheers.

I have handoff enabled on both devices.

My iPad is not the cellular version.

I created a new administrator account, same issue on that account.

Tried it on my GF Macbook (M1) running macOS 12 (Monterey) with the ipad and it worked great.

Since then i can now screen mirror from my ipad to my mac mini but not from my mac mini to the ipad.

Question, if I have 2 screens connected to my mac mini will it cause this issue? I disconnect 1 screen but it didn't change anything.

So I followed the link which inevitably told me I have to take it to the apple store. Took it to the apple store and they cannot find the issue, they said I would have to pay to have the system wiped at a cost of $75 USD to see if it resolves the issue. They cannot detect any hardware issues.

Starting to lose my patience because THIS IS ANNOYING AS F*^%.

I will try wiping it clean and start from scratch, if this does not resolve the issue what am I to do, just live with it? I don't think I am willing to settle for a product that is not working as intended.
