Screen Mirroring from MacBook Pro to iPad Keeps Disconnecting

I am trying to extend the screen from my 2021 16 inch M1 MacBook Pro to my 10.5 inch iPad Pro. It will connect, but after a few seconds it disconnects on the iPad, then reconnects. It will all repeat a few times then it disconnects and the iPad shuts down. Software on both devices are up to date. I have restarted both devices, several times. It has worked before updating to Ventura. Below, when selecting devices - this actually applies to both the iPad and MacBook Pro.

Here are some additional details. The iPad is running iPad OS 16.1.1, the MacBook Pro is running Mac OS Ventura 13.0.1. When I try to mirror my MacBook Pro screen to the iPad, it will connect for about 7 seconds then lose the connection for 2 seconds. This cycle repeats a number of times. Occasionally the disconnection will last a longer period, up to 30 seconds. After abut 3 minutes of this, a message appears on the MacBook Pro saying the connection is lost. I have tried different locations, thinking something may be interfering with the connection, but he results are the same. I haven't have the opportunity to try a different network, but that is next.
