Unable to use Belkin USB-C Multimedia Hub F4U092

At the moment I am very frustrated. I have a Belkin USB-C Multimedia Hub F4U092 that has been working flawlessly for the past 2 years on my MacBook Pro 2020. Last week I accidentally updated to Mac OS Ventura since I was due. I updated it and boy do I regret it. I have not been able to use my usb-c hub for the past 2 weeks. I took it to the Apple Store last week with my Belkin and it worked perfectly fine for older MAC OS but when it came down to 13 it did not. My next best option was to downgrade. We downgraded to Mac OS 10 and once again the Belkin did not work. At this point I am very frustrated because all Apple has done is told me to do these resets and restart and nothing has worked nothing. I'm currently hoping for an explanation or just hope that in their next update they resolve this because this has caused a lot more stress and shows why people should not update when Apple tells us to and basically to wait until months after when our apps no longer work.

This response is very poor. How can you say this when the internet is exploding with Ventura issues?! Apple has even acknowledged the issue. When will the fix come from apple so we can move forward. It's very discouraging when sloppy work impacts our livelihood!

I am sorry for your having this frustrating experience. Perhaps the following comments will help you.

  • I don't think the Ventura is the problem. It is an excellent operating system.
  • Is the Belkin unit a powered unit? This is critically important as many external devices may not function when connected to an unpowered hub.
  • Have you tried connecting the hub to another computer with the same OS to see if it functions there?
  • I have an older powered Belkin hub which works just fine with Ventura.

Well, as I said, non-power units are iffy. Personally I would never use a non-powered hub. One thing you might try is to restart your computer in the Safe Mode. Press the Shift key on restart. Allow up to five minutes as this can take some time while the Mac's OS is repairing itself and cleaning its caches. Then see if the hub is recognized. Then restart and look again. If this does not work, all I can suggest is to replace the Belkin unit with a powered one.

it is important to know that Apple does not "fix issues" with other vendor products. They, like Microsoft, issue specifications prior to an OS release which other vendors must conform to, so any fixes must come from said vendors. Yes, on occasion Apple will have some problem with an OS and it will be fixed. Prior to any OS update or upgrade, every OS is released to a group of volunteers who install it and test it. (I have been one of them.) So, all I can say is that Ventura is currently working well for most of us, including me. Maybe, just maybe, the problem with the Belkin hub was due to a Belkin problem.

Thank you! You understand my frustration. I actually went out and bought a powered usb c hub to no avail. I already know the answer I am going to get from another person is not going to be helpful at all but its good to see someone else understanding my point of view and how these " troubleshoot methods"actually don't do anything... I still can't use my Lenovo monitor with my MacBook Pro and it sucks.

Hi Ronasara,

it’s important for Apple support to read the entirety of a post. The product in question works perfectly with many different Apple operating systems but does not work with Ventura. Your lack of humility in this is upsetting. Who at Apple can we talk with that can help explain or resolve our situation. You are impacting my business with this attitude and approach.
