I can no longer open incoming voice text messages. They appear as. "Audio Message.caf". I toggle iMessage off and on in Setting > Messages > iMessage... and still no ability to open. Any suggestions?

Thank you for replying. Actually, voice messages came in on the same day and I can't open them. I used to be able to. Interestingly, some of them appear in my messages on my MacBook Air laptop - those I can open on the laptop. But my laptop doesn't receive or register all my messages. All very weird!

Might the messages have expired?
Check Settings > Messages > [audio messages] Expire
