I am unable to download or open/play .amr voice recording files sent to my iPhone XS Max via SMS (from non-Apple devices). The issue occurred once I updated to iOS 18. I am currently able to listen to .amr voice files that were sent to me just prior to the iOS 18 update without issue. I tried rebooting my phone but that has not solved this. Any assistance that could be provided here is appreciated! Any ideas?

Dude same, ever since iOS 18 i cant listen to or download .amr voice messages from RCS android users. Weird thing though it seems I can listen to them when they’re sent in my SMS group chat?? But the same person sending me a voice message directly on RCS is unplayable. Wish Apple said something about this.

I have the same issue right now with my iPhone 15 Pro MAX. Prior to the iOS 18 update I was able to listen to the .amr audio files via text messages from an Android phone and now I am unable to hear or download them to listen. The .amr audio files that are in the text chain prior to the iOS 18 update are still able to be accessed and heard. I have NOT been able to find anything online to remedy this change on our devices.
Temporary fix I found is

Same. Just continues glitching. RNC is turned on. No idea how to remedy.
