Problem in disconnecting the call

My Iphone 12 screen goes black after finishing my call conversation and I am unable to end the call till the call receiver not disconnect it.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with disconnecting from a phone call when on your iPhone. We'd like to help.


Are you currently running the most updated iOS? That would be iOS 16.2. If you're not sure follow these steps to check:


  1. Open Settings on iPhone
  2. Choose About
  3. Choose Software Update.


If there's an update available, please back up your device and then update:


Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly
1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.

5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.


If you're still having issues, go ahead and force restart your iPhone:


On your iPhone 8 or later, including iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation)

1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
3. Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

4. If your phone doesn't turn on, follow these steps to check your hardware and charge your phone. You might need to charge for up to an hour.
5. If your phone still doesn't turn on, contact Apple Support.
