ipad

Hi

I import my canon jpg photos into my ipad and edit them. Once it is done, the edited photo is surely better than the original. As a next step i try to import them to imac to the app Photos. The problem is, the for example 2000 photos i have in ipad, during the import process to photos app in Imac, are shown like double! One original, next to it the edited one. I want to import only the edited ones. How do i manage this? without manually selecting these? The very originals are raw photos which i import anyway separeately to imac. With wanting only to import the edited photos, i can already upload these into my home page instead of editing thousands of photos raw photos.

Hi Ali_powerofnow,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

We understand that you have original photos and edited versions and you want to only import the edited ones to your iMac. On iPad, you can remove duplicate photos by simply merging them.

1. Swipe from the left edge of the screen or tap the Show Sidebar button to show the sidebar.
2. Tap Duplicates below Utilities.
Duplicate photos and videos appear next to each other.
3. Tap Merge to combine the duplicates, then tap Merge [number] Items.

Merging combines the highest quality version and all of the relevant data across the duplicates, and keeps that one in your library. The remaining duplicates are moved to the Recently Deleted album.

You can find these steps in Merge duplicate photos and videos on iPad.

Regards.

Hello Ali_powerofnow,

Thanks for following up with that information. Are you using the Photos app to edit the photos on your iPad, or are you using a third-party app? If you're using a different app, let's see if the original photo is still stored there. If it is, try deleting one of the original photos to see if that changes what is shown for the import options on your iMac.

If that clears up what's happening, the photos would appear to be pulling from the library of the app as well to sync. You may need to clear the library if this is the case. If that doesn't appear to be related, let's confirm that you have the latest macOS and iPadOS versions installed to see if that may be related to what's occurring. Hi Astro24,

Thank you for your time and answer. The duplicates are appearing like the picture i posted above, when i want to import photos from IPAD to Photos app in IMAC. Alone in Ipad, i looked at it, ipad does NOT show duplicate photos. These photos as original and just next to it the developed ones appear only on try to import into Photos. So, unfortunately i do not have yet the solution

Thanks for replying.

i do use the photos app and always latest iOS. In iPad, i do not see the original; not edited version. I see ONLY one photo. When I connect iPad to my iMac and open the photos app for importing my photos from iPad, there ! I see the original photo and the developed version of it just next to as print screen copied on the top of this discussion.
