iPad TV+ trailers appearing with French subtitles

The Apple TV app on my new iPad Air shows subtitles in French on trailers for Apple TV+. Subtitles are turned off in the Accessibility options and this problem doesn’t appear on my iPhone 13 or Macbook Pro (2022) logged into the same Apple ID.

Can anyone help?

Sorted.

I played a trailer and selected (…), then Subtitles, and set them to AUTO.
