Sleep values show 2 different set of data in sleep app

Hi all,

I use a new Apple Watch 8 and iPhone 13 Pro Max, and have noticed that the total hours of sleep (time in bed and time asleep) don’t match the data shown in stages.

Here you see that the total sleep shown here is 8 hours and 46 minutes (I work nights), but when you look at stages at the bottom it says “Awake 2 minutes, REM 1 hour 30 minutes, Core 4 hours 56 minutes, and Deep 1 hour 24 minutes”.

Now I’m no math whiz, but if I round up and add each of those values the amount comes to around 8 hours (a little less actually). So either the iPhone/Watch is pulling almost an extra hour from….somewhere, or they can’t do basic arithmetic😅

Any ideas?
