CarPlay will not allow me to hear anyone on the other end of phone calls whether I am sending/receiving the phone call

CarPlay will not allow me to hear anyone on the other end of phone calls whether I am sending/receiving the phone call. I have a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe and an iPhone 13 Pro with the latest iOS update. I have made sure all accesses are allowed on my phone for carplay, deleted my phone from my car and carplay from my phone in order to restart it all and reconnect it from the beginning again. Still did not fix the issue. Everything else with CarPlay works just fine, just unable to hear people on phone calls and they are unable to hear me. PLEASE HELP!!!

If you are unable to hear the other end of a phone call while connected to CarPlay, follow these troubleshooting steps next since they can resolve unexpected issues like this:


  • If you are running any audio apps in the background (third-party navigation, music streaming, etc) stop them before the call and test again.
  • Disable Wi-Fi calling in Settings > Phone. 
  • Disable Settings > Cellular Data temporarily and test.
  • Confirm phone call audio works as expected when not using CarPlay.
  • Reset Network Settings. Navigate to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.


If this continues to occur after following those steps, then Apple Support would be the best equipped to look into this further. Contact them here: Get Support
