MY battery IS genuine...

I keep getting the "Unable to determine if your battery is a genuine Apple part." message even though I have never had my phone worked on. This error message started after the last patch, I am using iOS 16.1.1

In the event that an internal component has failed (in this case, the battery), an error is expected.

If that didn’t work, then I recommend service.
