M1 Mac Mini 2020 no full chime on start up

New here so this may be an obvious fix for some..

Having a start up issue with my M1 mini.. This only seems to only happen in the morning first thing. I turn the machine on, the light comes on and I hear the chime. Then towards the end of the chime it cuts out and the light goes out. Then within less than a second the light comes back on and I'm up and running. I can shut down and then power on and I won't have this issue again for the rest of the day. Has happened for the past three days now. Will plan on taking it back to apple as it's still in warranty, but thought I'd ask if anyone had any thoughts or suggestions/advice here before making the journey.

Thanks!

Mac mini 2018 or later

Have the same M1 Mac Mini connected via HDMI cable Directly to Asus VP278 Monitor with builtin Speakers in Monitor

My Routine - from Off Position - Power Button on MM and Full Sound from MM is heard and immediately on sound switch on the Monitor.

Do not get the Light Off on Mac Mini and then immediate On again

Not that this is any comfort to your machine but just compare notes.

Once the machine is to Apple and fixed, would be interested on the finding - if time allows

Thats interesting, I too have my Mac mini connected to an Asus Monitor via HDMI cable aswell..

This morning I changed plug sockets to see if was a power/socket issue & removed all uneccesary connected devices except the hdmi cable to the monitor. Unfortunately still the same issue.

I'll try again tomorrow with your steps and note back on what's happened.

Thanks for your help!

That is a very good work there 👍

To compare additional relevant info.

Initially the machine came with Big Sur and upgraded to Monterey.

Somewhere around Monterey 12.5 using the same setup and would get a Crash log in Console which corresponded with the Cold Boot Time.

It cash was not a System Crash but related to a Native Audio Component in Monterey.

Investigated further and changes the HDMI Cable to a better qualify cable that came with the Asus Monitor.

Presto - not further Audio Component in Console

Machine is now on Ventura 13.0.1 and all remains trouble Free

Also, the machine is connected to an APC UPS BE750G for assured Power Supply and / or Power Spikes

Unfortunately the same issue happened today. ☹️

Seems this issue i'm having is not related to the monitor because it was not connected to the Mac Mini when powering on.

Wondering whether it's because of the security update 12.6.1 as this issue has started to occur witin a day or two after installing that update. My last step is to upgrade the OS to Ventura and then see if the issue is still there. If it doesn't fix it then it's off to Apple.

Thanks again for your help!
