Mac OS 13 Disk not ejected properly

OS 13 produces a very new error message: if you leave your MacBook on (screen down or up) and the battery is exhausted or the system goes into sleep, all external disks, including the one on which I have the TimeMachine backup place an "Disk not ejected properly" notification after start-up. If this is really true, then that is a serious defect of Mac OS 13 and needs addressing ASAP.
