Graphical Checkerboard Glitch in Google Chrome - Spreading to other applications
Hello all,
Over the past two weeks, I have started experiencing a weird graphical glitch when browsing on Google chrome. A link to a screenshot of the glitch is below:
The glitch appears to be most common when rendering an eTextbook or certain types of fonts and lists, like the list shown in the screenshot.
I haven't downloaded anything aside from airdropping images from my phone to my mac, and I have tried the following things:
- Restarted my macbook
- Reinstalling the OS (I've just upgraded to Ventura)
- Disabling certain chrome flags involving rasterization (From online research - a person suggested this from https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/419074/graphics-glitch-checkered-pattern-in-chrome) - This actually helped for some time, but the patterns eventually started to appear again
- Uninstalling and Reinstalling google chrome to no avail
- In the past few days, when using stage manager, the glitch has started to spread to applications like messages, discord, and activity monitor. I'm certain it is due to some rendering issue in the software.
I'm fairly sure that this is not a hardware issue, as the glitch only happens on applications, not the entire display itself. Is there any way I can prevent this from occurring again?
My device is a Macbook Pro 13 inch, 2020. Specs are listed below, if they are of any use:
- 1.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
- Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645 1536 MB
- 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
Thanks in advance!
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.0
